We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner, who has experience of Employee Relations, to join our team on a fixed term contract for 12 months reporting to the HR Manager.
The focus of the role as HR Business Partner is to be responsible, and to take, a project management approach to the delivery of organisational change, working in partnership with the managers to drive the HR aspects to ensure effective change management while providing professional HR advice and coaching for managers
Drive the achievement of the organisation’s business and strategic plans by providing timely, expert HR advice on all organisational change activity to ensure the organisation has the right workforce to deliver its services.
Support the HR Manager in the delivery of a professional HR service that adds value and delivers effective business-focused solutions. To work in partnership with managers and other HR professionals to drive organisational change and enable continuous improvement.
To interpret and advise on the organisation’s employment policies, terms and conditions, and on employment law to ensure that the decisions taken achieve the objectives in a cost effective and a policy/ legally compliant way, taking a managed approach to risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities as a HRBP
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
* Regularly meet with HR Manager to provide and gain key updates on the organisational changes
* Guiding and supporting managers in preparing all necessary documentation/forms/calculations in a timely manner and making them fully aware of company guidelines.
* Coach managers through any Employee relation activities, so that they are conducted fairly and in line with legal requirements
* Responsibility for updating knowledge on any relevant employment law changes
* In collaboration with the HR Manager and HR Business Partner, administer and provide consultations across Maritime with regards to the organisational changes in aid to keeping communication open and the business informed
* Coach Managers through disciplinary, grievance, flexible working, occupational health issues and counselling activities so that they are conducted fairly in line with legal requirements and follow- up protocol
* Coach Managers on all issues relating to performance improvement, performance improvement plans, absence, maternity and terminations with the aim of managing poor performers either up or out in a fair yet swift manner and within the framework of the law
* Conduct exit interviews to measure and analyse levels of staff turnover and identify the major factors why people are leaving for further discussion with management
COMPENSATION MANAGEMENT
* Work with the HR Advisor to maintain redundancy calculations ensuring the compensation and benefits are accurate
* Reports and critical information to be provided accurately and in a timely manner as and when required to Head office and/or Senior Management
Skills, Qualification and Experience
* Degree educated or equivalent such as CIPD Level 5/7 Intermediate Diploma
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Experience of Employee Relations in particular redundancy, restructuring, site moves, relocation and TUPE
* Attention to detail and the ability to process large amounts of information quickly
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised
* Experience of delivery of change management programmes
Applicants will be required to meet SC level of security clearance. There will also be a requirement for occasional travel within the UK
