We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, experienced and motivated Head Ophthalmic Practitioner to lead the ophthalmic imaging team. Supported by our Clinical Lead & Educational Supervisor for Ophthalmology and the Clinical Services Support Manager.
Applicants for this post will need an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Healthcare or Management, significant experience as a senior practitioner in ophthalmic imaging and of line managing a large team.
For the first 3-6 months this role will work solely in a leadership capacity, following this the role will split to 0.6 FTE leadership and 0.4 FTE within clinics.
A key part of this role will be the upskilling the existing diagnostic technician team to that of a team of extended scope ophthalmic technicians.
Applicants should have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, patients and carers as well as working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be expected to work independently and demonstrate initiative, following a comprehensive organisational induction
