We are seeking an enthusiastic, Buying Assistant who will grow with the company and add value to our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about buying and understanding the fragrance industry and supply chain. There is lots of scope for growth here with the opportunity to shape the role, so we are keen to meet someone who is eager to learn and develop.
Key Responsibilities:
* Researching trends and suppliers, analyse market trends and apply knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
* Building relationships with suppliers & tailoring negotiations to suit their ways of working.
* Arranging transport of goods and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery.
* Recordkeeping.
* Negotiating – ensuring best prices for items and delivery in satisfactory time.
* Developing an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders.
* Discussing business needs with other buyers.
* Monitoring shipments, deliveries, chasing suppliers to ensure timely receipt.
* PO management from point of raising through to delivery of goods.
* Maintaining stock levels and identify the need for replenishment.
* Developing comprehensive understanding of fragrance supply chain.
* Building relationships with other departments to ensure constant communication and efficiency.
* Being able to use initiative to manage stocklists and offers from owned suppliers.
* Efficiently running reports and using them to analyse data and create accurate action points.
* Be proactive in managing own development – identifying potential areas for improvement and seeking the necessary tools to maximise learning potential.

Technical Skills
* Advanced Excel skills including V-Look ups

* Strong administration experience
* Knowledge of supply chains is desirable
* Experience of Sage desirable
