Role overview:
As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining the business network of systems, with a focus on hardware and networking. Working closely with the Systems Administration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all business applications, lines of business and services are maintained.
You will be involved in the design, construction and commissioning phase of the business’ Electric Forecourts and solar farms, maintaining site network diagrams including cable runs, coms cabinet locations, coms cabinet layouts, port counts and layout, port schedules, VLAN to port assignments, VLAN configuration settings, VLAN subnets, Wi-Fi topology, security and access control.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Taking ownership of and managing Data & Coms digital estate
* Creating documentation in support of digital estate
* Overseeing external partners deliver services to construction projects, managing changes in an agile fashion throughout construction and commissioning
* Managing and documenting change control, liaising with external partners where necessary
* Supporting third party service suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
* Liaising with external managed service providers to support deployment and change control of core digital estate
* Liaising with internal teams troubleshooting and fault resolution in support of the business’ SLAs
This role requires travel to constructions sites across the country in line with the business deployment plan.

Have demonstrable experience working within a similar role & have most if not all of the following skills:
* Excellent communications skills and stakeholder management
* Excellent documentation skills
* Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting complex networks
* Experience working with MSP’s
* Understanding of the OSI model
* IP networking fundamentals. DHCP, DNS, Subnetting, VPLS concepts, scope options
* Gateways, firewalls, routers, switches
* Project and operations experience
* Network monitoring experience
* Routing protocols and IP addressing / subnetting
