About Us
The Vines is situated in High Wycombe, just minutes off the M40, 20 minutes off the M25 and well served by the local public transport network. In this warm and welcoming house, we provide residential short breaks that support children and young people with learning disabilities aged 11 to 18 who have complex behavioural needs. We are looking for a Team Leader to join our fun and supportive team at The Vines who can bring their experience, can-do attitude and passion with them and help maintain the high standards already set by our wonderful team! Working hours are on a shift basis, with every other weekend off and at least one admin day a week although some flexibility is required, as is the nature of our work.
About the Role
Managing and leading a team of staff to deliver our service
Helping staff meet their potential sharing responsibility for a delegated part of the service and allocated resources.
Being responsible for ensuring a safe and positive work and service environment is achieved through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety, behaviour support policies and procedures within the defined area of responsibility
Delivering services and leading by example to ensure that staff are supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential
Delivering mandatory training and identifying areas of need, for staff and the service as a whole, for further development
Directing and direct responsibility for case/care (including complex cases), in planning management for individual children or young people, undertaking assessment of need, developing a care plan and identifying agreed outcomes and carrying out regular review in conjunction with children, young people and their families and other professionals.
You will need:
Minimum of 1 years' experience in a supervisory role working with children with disabilities in a residential setting.
A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is Essential
Experience of leading and managing a team
Experience of Performance Management
Driver's Licence and access to car would be preferable
Experience of working with people with disabilities and challenging behaviour
Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt when required
Intermediate IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Office
Time management and organisational skills
