Job Title: Category Manager
Salary: £35,000 – £42,000
Location: High Wycombe
Are you an experienced Indirects Category Manager looking for a new challenge? Our client is currently recruiting for a Category Manager to join their procurement team at their Head Office, based in High Wycombe. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As Category Manager, you will be leading the business in agreeing and delivering clear category strategies for Indirect spend; as well as building relationships with the Business Units and Functions to establish customer requirements in the following categories; People Services (HR and L&D), FM Services (to inc business support, cleaning, stationery etc), IT Services/ Telecoms.
What else will you do?
* Undertake the Procurement process for RFI, RFP, E-procurement, negotiation and vendor management in your relevant categories.
* Negotiate, draft and complete contractual terms for projects and works within the spend Category.
* Cultivate and manage key supplier relationships for long term strategic positioning.
* Lead commercial negotiations through to contract award or amendment.
* Own the development of category strategies including research and analysis (spend analysis, make vs. buy, cost benchmarking, etc.) to identify category saving opportunities and develop strategic category plans.
* Take overall responsibility for supplier performance to ensure quality and service levels are maintained at agreed levels.
* Instigate regular supplier [SRM] visits to ensure fundamental understanding of suppliers within Category.
* Adopt remedial action should a supplier fall short of SLA performance.
* Ensure that all approved purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in a timely fashion and are placed with appropriate approved suppliers.

* Have specific experience with the afore mentioned categories
* Have been working at a management level in a procurement or sourcing department for a minimum of 3 years
* Have really good communication skills
* Work well within a team, being supportive, reliable and collaborative
* Have high levels of emotional intelligence
* Have previous experience of leading a procurement category set
* Have the ability to proactively provide solutions to issues that appear difficult to resolve
* Demonstrate a supportive communication style
* Have experience in managing complaints or feedback
