Rent Recovery Officer x2 – Social Housing

Salary: Circa. £32,000 per annum

High Wycombe / Beaconsfield area – working from home currently

1 x Full Time, 37 hours per week, Permanent

1 x Full Time, 37 hours per week, 12 month contract (possibility to be extended to 15 months)

Are you experienced in Housing or Rent Recovery?

Our client has an exciting opportunity for 2 Rent Recovery Officers to join them on a full time basis. You will help provide a responsive and efficient rent collection service.

Job requirements:

· Be able to build good relationships with their Local Authority partners and Universal Credit to ensure benefit income is maximised and to assist with homelessness prevention.

· Liaise with Housing Officers to ensure a consistent approach across teams and deliver excellent customer service.

· Support tenants with advice on how to maximise their income (including benefits) and encourage them to prioritise debt, signposting relevant support services.

· Provide regular reports to managers on rent arrears levels and trends.

· Carry out evictions alongside the bailiff, and the Housing Officer.

· Prepare reports for authorisation for eviction and make arrangements for eviction, including a lock change and joint appointment with the Housing Officer.

What they're looking for:

· Experience of working in social housing, ideally in Rent Recovery.

· Strong IT skills.

· A good knowledge of welfare reform, Housing Benefit and DWP (Universal Credit).

· Knowledge of housing tenures including shared ownership, leaseholder, temporary housing, Assured and fixed term tenancies.

· Experience of attending court for rent arrears.

· Experience of evictions.
