Head of Strategy

Location: High Wycombe (Hybrid working)

Salary: Circa £51,000 plus excellent benefits package

Permanent, Full Time 37 hrs p/w

In our new Head of Strategy, we are looking for somebody who will bring to life our policy and research programme to support the delivery of our Corporate Strategy and our goal to be the leading provider of affordable housing in the places where we work. You will be able to combine your excellent stakeholder and people leadership skills, with the ability to research and analyse the policy and operating environment for housing provision. We are looking for somebody to support the Assistant Director – Strategy and Communications to articulate our vision and inspire our colleagues and stakeholders based around a desire to use data and insight effectively.

In this key role you will deliver a research and policy programme and a stakeholder engagement strategy which ensures that we develop and communicate clearly about our Corporate Plan and goals with customers, stakeholders and staff. You will need to work with Directors and managers across the business to make sure that we have robust and resilient plans to achieve our goals, keeping them informed of changes and trends in wider external factors which impact our customers and our business. The scope of the role includes the management of a grant programme to support projects and services in communities where we work, and the development and coordination of our environmental sustainability strategy.

To be successful in this role you will probably work in or have a good understanding of social housing in a policy or public affairs role, either in social housing or a related sector, and your own horizon scanning skills, and, ideally, you will have a track record of developing and managing new and existing stakeholder relationships.

You are likely to be able to demonstrate experience or ability in :

Understanding of how to use data from a range of sources to research key areas of policy and practice which provide actionable insight and recommendations.

Strategy and plan development and reporting at a corporate level.

Demonstrable leadership ability.

Experienced in developing and motivating a team.
