Hazlemere Group have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join the team.
Location: High Wycombe but will need to travel for site visits
Salary: Competitive
Health and Safety Manager – The Role:
To maintain a high level of Health and safety practice within the company and ensure that is it compliant with Health and Safety legislation.
Health and Safety Manager – Key Responsibilities:
– To monitor health and safety risks on the company premises and on site
– Ensure the company is compliant with health and safety legislation
– Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising training for emergency teams such as fire wardens and first aiders
– Ensure that all site staff have the required training / inductions for works as required
– Carry out all risk assessments and special assessments as required by business, including display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, fork lift loading, pregnant workers, etc
– Offering general health and safety advice and training to all employees and contractors as applicable.
– Any other ad hoc health and safety duties as required
– Oversee and assist ISO Manager with the continuous monitoring of ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification
– Keep up to date with all H&S Legislation relevant to the business and industry
– Undertake investigation into all H&S related incidents
– Assist with external investigations from interested parties such as HSE
– Report on H&S monthly for the Board of Directors
– Implement, monitor and manage all Policies and Procedures for the company
– Carry out annual Safety and Fire Safety audits to all HWC premises
Health and Safety Manager – You:
Essential:
– A strong background in health and safety
– Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications
– A good deal of common sense, etiquette, and ability to think on one’s feet
– Flexibility and Resilience
– Excellent attention to detail
– Ability to work without supervision
– Strong organisational and planning skills
– Good communication skills
– Advanced experience and knowledge of Microsoft office
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Full, clean UK driving licence
Preferable:
– Grad IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
– NEBOSH (National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety)
