An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highways Operative to be based out of our High Wycombe Depot. The main purpose of the role is to assist, generally as part of team, in delivering highway maintenance in both planned and reactive operations. Applicants must be willing to be part of a road maintenance team where driving forms part of the day to day role as well as general road maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will have a Class 2 License and either have previous highways or construction experience.

Hourly Rate – £11.25 (circa £23,500 pa)

– Winter Service (£140/week + £75 per run – 6 out of 12 months)

– Out of Hours Service (£130/week + call out hours)

Based in High Wycombe, HP11 1TJ (Handy Cross Depot)

The successful candidate will have;

Team player with an interest to learn
Highway or construction skills/experience
LGV/HGV Licence with CPC (Must have)
NHSS or NRSW or LANTRA 12d or 12AB or NVQ Winter Maintenance (all desirable)
Local to Buckinghamshire Network
Ensures work is accurate, timely and prepared to the appropriate required standard
Clean – Full UK Driver's LicenseYou would be responsible for;

Working as part of the Highway Maintenance Operations Team
Completion of site safety risk assessments
Assisting with inspection of plant and machinery
Providing general support to the area office team and supervisors
Delivery of business plan objectives
Delivery of quality and associated KPIs
An understanding of the principles of Health, Safety and the Environment
Taking part in out of hours and winter maintenance operations
