Junior Highways Inspector

Salary – £19,000 – £23,000

Role holder issued a Commercial Van with Fuel Card

Based in High Wycombe, HP11 1TJ (Handy Cross)

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Junior Highways Inspector. We're looking for candidates with experience of gathering data or surveying experience that can transfer into the highways sector which offers additional training opportunities. The Highways Inspector will be responsible for undertaking Safety and Service Inspections and gathering Asset / Defect information on the highway network across Buckinghamshire. The majority of this role will be spent on foot and in all weather conditions, you would be physically tested in this role.

You would be responsible for;

Performing and accurately report Safety and Service Inspections
Performing walked and driven highway inspections working alone and alongside others
Overseeing an Assistant Highway Inspector as necessary
Ensuring inspection processes and procedures are being followed
Managing and updating databases and other digitised data for the area, ensuring data collected is accurate and error free
Provide support and evidence for insurance claim defence
Prepare, attend and if necessary, give evidence at court
To participate in a Performance and Development ReviewThe successful candidate will have;

A full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points)
Good personal fitness levels
A basic understanding of road safety
Experience of working in highway maintenance and/or with an asset management system
Ability to collect accurate asset and defect information
