My client in Sands are looking for a Goods In Operative to join their team.
Job description
Goods Inwards Operative
The essential functions of the role are to ensure a smooth process of receiving and correctly locating incoming products. Dealing with high volume and multiple daily deliveries. Matching deliveries with GRNs and purchase orders. Overseeing deliveries, including unloading, counting, and checking stock. Managing non-conformances.
Duties to include:
Check incoming goods at moment of delivery and record any damages or non-conformances to the delivering driver. (sign as UNCHECKED or DAMAGED)
Use forklift to unload pallets from delivery vehicles following H&S guidelines – store in holding bay for checking
Perform daily checks on forklift, liaising with the warehouse manager with findings
Accurately check incoming quantities against delivery note and sign off relevant delivery documents. Print out and label up products as required.
Record all discrepancies on advice notes and liaise with purchasing to resolve.
Put away all correctly received stock in the designated bays in a timely manner
Apply stock-rotation procedures at all times to ensure "last-in, last-out" chronology utilising use first labels when necessary.
Utilise and monitor "quarantine area" for damaged / incorrect incoming goods and alert management of long-standing issues.Ancillary duties
Helping in other areas of the warehouse as directed by the warehouse manager
Suggest re-sizing or relocation of bays to accommodate stock levels
Ensuring that the goods inwards area is kept tidy at all times
When purchasing manager is absent – report delivery discrepancies direct to supplier
Monitor incoming delivery timetable on a daily basis
Other tasks related to material accuracy and goods in activities
Interrogate OGL system when required
Actively participate in stock take activities
Maintain clean and tidy environment for all product on shelves
Repack damaged cartons where necessary to make re-sellable and prioritise
Use Forklift to load outgoing pallets when appropriateEssential Requirements:
Forklift driving licence (Counterbalance)
Experience with Microsoft excelDesirable Requirements:

Salary: £22,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
