Orion Group are recruiting for a Commercial Lead – Pulmonary Hypertension on behalf of our Multinational Pharmaceutical Client on an initial 12 month contract based in the Buckinghamshire Area
Job Purpose:
To lead and develop a 3-5-year strategy and annual business plan that will achieve patient outcomes, targets and sustainable growth for a new business area.
Partner with CVT members, Head of Patient Engagement & Government Affairs and Head of Healthcare Strategy to fully understand the external environment/partners and develop a plan that shapes policy to therapy area strategy.
To shape and influence EMEA strategies, plans and tactics to ensure they reflect the needs of the UK market.
Lead and develop highly motivated, high performance sales and marketing teams, resourced appropriately to meet future needs of the business unit and business continuity.Strategy Development and Direction (within Therapy Area)
Own the CVT to build 3-5-year therapy area strategy that will transform patient/healthcare outcomes now and in the future. To include:
Go-to-market strategy including scenarios and evidence generation strategy
Sales forecasts
Strategic (people) resource plan
Partner engagement / management strategy that is aligned cross-functionally
Produce Tactical Business Plan in Collaboration with Key Partners
Lead the Country Value Team to align execution of the plans including partner management plans
Optimize the deployment of sales/account team resource, in order to maximize profit contribution in the long term
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans and identify issues and course correct in a timely manner
Partner with Head of Patient Engagement & Government Affairs, Head of Healthcare Strategy and Director of HEMAR to shape policy aligned with therapy strategy
Lead the Country Value Team to shape and build cross-functional business plans, including: P&L, Sales forecasts, Annual resource plan, Business plan (projects & spend), Partner engagement/ management plans
Measure sales force effectiveness, execution of plan and operating standards
Monitor brand plan implementation through effective KPI's/ dashboards and hold team accountable
Manage the portfolio P&L to balance resource (people and spend) commitments across the franchise
Review business plans with management team, highlight risks and mitigation plans
Partner with IBVTL to align strategies and plans, including clinical trial design, pricing strategy, brand value priorities and patient focused solutions and optimize these for the UK market
Lead CVT to align messages communicated to IBVT members through functional networks
Sign off marketing/customer facing materials in online approval system
Regularly coach/mentor all direct reports
Provide/resource training provision to meet development needs of line report/s
Conduct recruitment interviews/assessments as required
Check that all direct reports have completed required compliance training including HCC, Drug Safety & complaints within 1 month of joining the company and annually thereafter
Complete all allocated compliance and SOP training in a timely way e.g. annual Drug Safety Training, and act according to guidelines etc., stated within these programmes and documents
When commissioning contractors or third-party organizations, put contracts in place and provide training so that these individuals also act in accordance with the company's HCC requirements when interacting with Healthcare Professionals and report adverse events and complaints (as above).Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate
Experience working at Commercial Lead level or equivalent (i.e. associate director) within a launch (new business development) and relevant sales management environment would be highly beneficial.
You will have previous line management experience ideally within a similar treatment area or sales management role of a similar complexity i.e. heavily matrix organization.
You will have the ability to build positive relationships
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to positively lead, mentoring and developing individuals to achieve beyond the status quo
You will have proven experience in leading a strong team in a commercial environment
Managing complexity – adding clarity; being bold and taking ownership in face of challenge; authenticity; performance managing; talent management; holding people to account; discernment; able to make difficult decisions; pragmatism; being able to lead through people and still engage/communicate effectively across the team.
