Do you have a Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline? Would you class yourself as someone who can take the lead see problems and take the responsibility to resolve them? Are you Proficient in 2D and 3D electronic drawing packages (CAD)?

The successful applicant should have the following profile:
Be both literate and numerate – ideally a graduate in an Engineering discipline. Manufacturing/Design engineer with knowledge of the processes used in the plastics or medical devices industry. Proficient in 2D and 3D electronic drawing packages (CAD).
Knowledge of QA/QC Systems and techniques. Total command of computer tools, Office (especially Excel). Ability to read, understand and influence Engineering product design drawings. Have a detailed and methodical mind, with good organisational skills.
A good communicator, both written and oral. A self-motivated person, with the ability to make logical and decisive decisions and who is flexible in their approach to the tasks set as well as with other members of staff and suppliers.
Full driving license and passport to enable travel in the UK and abroad.
What you will doing ? Reporting directly to the Senior Project Engineer. With the Marketing department, capture User Needs and other inputs to create appropriate design specifications to help identify potential new company or distributed products.
With the Senior Project Engineer, manage the design and development process of new products and modifications of existing company own brand products via the NPI (New Product Introduction) procedure. With the Senior Project Engineer and other internal/external resources, complete all documentation and practical elements of the NPI process to the required standard and within agreed timescales and budgets.
With the Senior Project Engineer, provide support to the RA department in terms of materials, performance or any other testing or information that is required to support ongoing regulatory approvals. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure the output of the NPI process meets all performance, pricing and other requirements. Administrate the drawing office, ensuring all drawings, labels, components and materials information is current and logged appropriately.
Check and approve subcontractor's drawings of products. Assist in the specification and procurement of subcontractor production equipment. Influence and support the manufacturing of products by development of suitable documentation and practical troubleshooting in harmony with QA/RA, the Buyer and relevant subcontractors.
As required, travel to visit suppliers and attend exhibitions, primarily within UK and Europe, but with the possible occasional visit outside the EU. Support the Buyer and QA/RA in the task of ensuring that finished products and components are supplied, to the correct specification, to the required quality level, and in a timely manner.
Assist the Buyer, together with the QA department, in the selection and monitoring of suppliers. Provide cover for other office staff and assist in other areas as required.

A training schedule is devised to meet the needs of the individual. This will include the use of the computer system and relevant software packages. Hospital visits may also be included. SOPs that have a direct application to the job should be reviewed and understood. This forms part of the training records.
