The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Bakery Technologist to join our Technical team, to support Hovis to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery.

Working with the central technical team, some of the key accountabilities include;

Producing bread and other bakery products in the test bakery under controlled conditions to support product improvement and ingredient changes.

Complete and report the assessment of products from plant trials and test baking against the required specification.

Complete and report weekly assessments of site bread quality.

The ideal candidate will be one that is passionate not only about the work they do but the brand they work for, takes ownership of what they do and is able to influence their colleagues in the right way. They will display positive, encouraging and consistent behaviour.

Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:

Essential Skills:

* PC literate

* Self starter – can work on own initiative

* Team worker

* Interest in Food Science

* Excellent Communication skills

* Good organisational and time-management skills

* A Levels or equivalent in Technical subjects

* Attention to Detail

Desirable:

* Bakery skills

* Food Industry knowledge

* Driving Licence
