Data Protection Officer

During an exciting period of expansion our client, an established and well-respected market leader within the technical services industry is actively seeking an experienced and results driven Data Protection Officer to help drive the business forwards.

Reporting directly to Head of Compliance and working closely with a broad spectrum of business professionals, key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Promoting a close working relationship between the Commercial team and the wider operation

* Provide support, advice and assurance of compliance across the business

* Understanding the risks involved in the company’s operation and effectively relay these to the Head of Compliance

* Manage and advise the business on general day-to-day data protection compliance, legal requirements and best practice

* Be the primary day-to-day contact with the business to advise on potential complaints and breaches, ensuring that all breaches are notified and investigated in accordance with the legal framework

* Carry out internal GDPR audits and inspections to ensure each site is complying with its legal requirement

* Ensuring that appropriate confidentiality is maintained at all times

* Supporting development and innovation within the business and identifying needs for a data protection impact assessment

* Adherence to company procedures including Health and Safety, HR and Security

* Following Data Protection legislation at all times

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing and overseeing Data Protection issues within the company. You will demonstrate exceptional commercial acumen. In addition, you will possess a detailed understanding of Data Protection and Privacy Legislation, strong negotiation skills and solid all round commercial knowledge.
