The Web Developer Role:
Job Purpose:
To work within the E-Commerce team to deliver the best online user experience for Dreams customers, by contributing towards a continuous optimisation program through on-site design and development improvements
Key Responsibilities of Web Developer:
* Assisting with the scoping, development, and implementation of front-end digital projects across multiple platforms, primarily SAP Hybris.
* To drive channel performance improvements through tactical delivery of digital personalisation and A/B/MV testing, campaign building, activation, and reporting.
* To work with the marketing and merchandising teams to realise site changes as per their requirements in an innovative and effective manner.
* Preparation of product imagery and creation of supporting promotional digital site assets.
* To provide ad-hoc technical and occasionally non-technical support for the online business as and when required.
* Comply with all reasonable requests made by Directors, Head of Department and Senior Management
* Ensure activities meet and comply with organisational and legal requirements for Health and Safety and general duty of care.
The Person:
Skills, Experience and Attributes Required:
* Demonstrate experience of delivering quality code & design (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) to defined and recognised standards, self-checking and evaluating, ensuring QA is a matter of course rather than a requirement.
* Strong understanding of HTML 5 / CSS / Javascript – hand coded, semantic and accessible
* Experience writing JavaScript in ES6+
* Experience with TypeScript
* Experience building websites as well as single page applications and progressive web applications using modern tooling and development techniques.
* 1+ years of experience with VueJS (or other front end view library/framework).
* 1+ years of experience with Webpack or similar JavaScript bundler.
* Experience using CSS pre-processors such as Sass or Less.
* Experience with Node.js and NPM
* Ability to interpret and deliver solutions from a brief without handholding, which may or may not be of technical nature.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate with both the technical and non-technical audiences.
* Thrives in a deadline driven environment and rises to the challenge – sees a problem as an opportunity.
* Experience of developing within an online retail environment would be of advantage.
* Experienced in delivering cross browser compatible code (W3C)
* Other programming experience would be beneficial as would experience of multi-system integrations.
* Experience in on-site optimisation, personalisation and A/B testing methodology would be an advantage.
* Working knowledge of SEO, Analytics and Page Speed Optimisation.
* Any experience working with SAP Hybris, Java and the Spring framework would be beneficial
