Test & Environment Manager

Overall Accountability:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, release, and environments function. This will include the day to day management of the release calendar, resourcing for the test function and ensuring the environments are stable and fit for purpose.

The client has identified the need to scale its test and release function to meet the growing demands of the business. They are looking for someone who has strong experience of how to set up, run and maintain continuous deployments within a retail organisation where they are reliant on many 3rd parties.

The client is particularly interested in understanding what good looks like and perhaps more importantly, how to get there.

This role requires someone who can assess the current ways of working, and set out a strategy and roadmap with clear milestones and deliverables and execute on this.

Strong stakeholder management and delivery experience will also be key.

Alongside this strategic piece, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Manage the Test Manager and testing function (contracted to a 3rd party)
Manage the Environment Managers (x2)
Day to day accountabilities for the integrity, availability of the environments
Day to day responsibilities for the release calendar, testing approach and timelines
Continuing the ongoing relationship with our 3rd parties

Test and Environment responsibility for a retailer
Must be able to demonstrate when they've taken an IT department from a very structured, infrequent release schedule to continuous deployment and how they achieved this, what they learned etc
Line management skillsThis role has been stipulated as Inside IR35
