Test Analyst

High Wycombe – 1-2 days per week in the office/Home working

12 Month Fixed Term Position

£44,000 per annum plus benefits package

My client who is based in High Wycombe are going through a major transformation now. They need 2 Test Analysts to come in for 12 months on a Fixed Term contract where you will work 1 to 2 days in the office per week and the rest from home.

The purpose of the role will involve developing, applying and assessing tests to analyse the configuration of commercial off the shelf software that the client will buy to replace its legacy in-house developed software. As the Test Analyst you will be creating and executing test scripts which will be the major part of your regular remit.

The programme includes a data migration from legacy systems to the new systems. This requires data analysis skills, especially SQL.

Key Responsibilities

* Work with Business Analysts, SMEs and software developers and configuration specialists to understand desired system usage and the scope of the programme

* Participate in stakeholder focus groups/workshops to review internal and external customer requirements and desired user experience

* Work with the Business Analysts and SMEs to write and execute test scripts and effectively communicate outcomes to technical and nontechnical colleagues, varying communication style according to audience

* Assist the Test Manager in the preparation of test plans and test scripts to test each software component until it meets the expected business outcomes

* Develop test conditions, scenarios, cases and scripts according to the specific test phases (e.g. Integration Test, UAT, Data Migration etc.)

* Assist in the production of test reports to record, summarise and prioritise test outcomes.

Essentials

* Any experience of running manual and automated tests across different environments is highly desirable

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Understanding of common software failures and faults

* Over 4 years relevant test experience

* Strong knowledge of varying testing principles and have a good awareness of modern testing methodologies

* Experience of using testing tools such as JIRA and Zephyr

* Strong data analysis skills including greater than 2 years with SQL

* Experience developing and delivering test plans, scripts and regression pack

* NonFunctional test expertise is desirable, so experience with e.g. stress testing, performance testing, scalability and security testing is welcome
