Avanti are working with a company based in High Wycombe looking to add a Software Support Team Lead.

Salary: £60-70k

The role will be 100% remote now, and in future when guidelines allow there will likely be a mix of remote and office working.

The company is the UK-based software division of a larger company headquartered in the US and works with logistics and retail organisations delivering device and network solutions and mobile application software, as well as providing support to customers.

The company has continued to do well in recent years and as part of natural growth there is a requirement to recruit now. Initially you will work closely with a senior member of the team who will train you on the systems and over time you will take more and more responsibility so that you will be the escalation point for support issues and will lead the existing support engineering team.

You should project management skills and experience of leading teams. The plan for the company is to move towards containerisation and AWS/cloud technologies so experience of either of these areas is a big plus. The role included management of 3 staff and organisation of the out-of-ours support services and you will work closely with software development manager.

Skills

* Background in IT Support including networking and database issues and performance

* Experience with SQL Server – performance optimisation and troubleshooting for large scale systems

* Comfortably with root cause analysis (of networking issues specifically)

* Experience with overnight batch file processes

Experience in logistics or retail industries is beneficial, as well as MDM or Altlassian software, plus the previously mentioned AWS and containerisation experience.
