Avanti Recruitment are looking for Mid+ Developers in South Oxford offering £40-60k.

Technology

One of the best things about this company is that they will use the best and latest technology. Developers from all backgrounds (C# or Java) will be considered as long as you are passionate about tech and can demonstrate this through looking into tech in your own time, or have a Github, articles, a blog or a Stackflow account you can show.

Typically the company uses the C# .Net stack and has a big focus on .Net CORE and React with Redux. They also use the latest Azure technologies along with CosmosDB/SQL, JavaScript, Dependency Injection, TDD/BDD, HTML5, CSS3.

The company have an internal hub where they keep everyone up to date on what technologies they are considering and looking into. A couple of years ago they were one of the first companies in the world to use and play with CosmosDB which is now used as standard. This is because they get private BETAs from Microsoft.

The owner of the company has written white papers on recent tech, headed up a .Net user group at Oxford University and recently went to Florida for a Microsoft tech meetup. Developers are encouraged to go to meetups too!

Senior .Net developer/ Lead .Net developers will be expected to be able to implement TDD.

Culture

The company are fairly close-knit so like be social. Some of the things they have done recently are laser tag and a brewery tour. They go to the pub together weekly and have all expenses paid weekend retreat at least twice a year, normally more. Recently they have been to the Cotswolds and to Brighton.

The company partner with companies to build technology together so there is a huge amount of Greenfield work and as they want to be using the latest technology all developers are empowered to influence what they do and what tech they use.

Everyone is given a top spec laptop and whatever equipment they need. If you want a particular setup with specific equipment or screens that’s fine!

There are roles available from intermediate through to senior and principal where you would lead you own large projects (though that isn’t required). Salary wise they can look anywhere from £35-60k
