Service Desk Technician
Pertemps Reading are currently looking for Service Desk Technicians to join the IT Service Desk and provide support to students during enrolment.
£12 per hour – WEEKLY PAY
Immediate start until end of October 2021
High Wycombe
Job Purpose:
Provide first-line support for Information Systems & Technology, University systems and network. Including user management & security, password management, email account creation and antivirus monitoring. Ensure all processes/performance are carried out in line with policies & procedures.
Main Responsibilities of Service Desk Technician:
– Provide proactive, customer-focused, first line support services to students and staff for any IT related services
– Update relevant Service Desk systems in support of Incident Management and Request Fulfilment
– Help identify & resolve underlying issues, providing technical advice and assistance to students and staff
– Create user manuals, FAQs and technical support documents for end users and IS&T colleagues as directed by Service Desk Managers
– Act as first escalation point for the team and customer. Taking ownership of the resolution of specific or complex incidents, requests and problems as required
To be considered for this Service Desk Technician role, you would ideally possess the following:
– Experience of delivering service in a demanding customer service environment
– Great knowledge of user account management and understanding of Active Directory objects
– Understanding of IT Service Desk functions
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
– Practical ability to diagnose software & hardware faults that are affecting the service
