IT Security Engineer

The Role:
Support the BAU Cyber Security of Dreams, providing technical support and development of our security systems
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily BAU checks and triage plus proactive maintenance for:
* Firewall/web filter errors and threats
* Threat Monitoring Alerts
* Security emails – Validate contents
* Cyberark dashboard – Application inbox
* Bitdefender status (ensure all machines are up to date)
* Mimecast errors and threats
* Varonis Data Alert Dashboard
* Web filter Unblock requests
* Assist service desk users with triage of any security issues
* Support and maintenance of security tasks in AD including
* User group membership
* Descriptions
* Manage Bitlocker, to ensure all laptops are secured
* Process Cyberark privilege management requests.
* Ensure all agent updates and patches for all security systems are maintained.
* Escalate and advise on major issues
Skills, Experience and Attributes Required:
* Minimum of 2 years proven experience within an IT Security environment, ideally within a fast-paced retail/ multi-site/ FMCG space.
* Understanding IT Security concepts used in dispersed organisations, such as Firewalls, Web filtering, Virus Protection, encryption, zero day threats and Threat Management.
* Familiarity of IT hardware such as routers, physical and virtual server environments.
* Understanding the needs of secure IT environments, backup and patch processes and change control process.
* Awareness of ITIL principles and best practice and the continuous improvement cycle.
* Ability and confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.
* Excellent telephone manner and verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to explain technical subjects in a manner suitable to the audience involved
