I.T. Technician – £25,000 – £28,000 – High Wycombe

My client is looking for someone to join their growing IT department to provide 1st to 3rd line support. The role will be part of a small team reporting to the Senior IT Engineer & IT Manager. The role will predominantly be dealing face to face with email and telephone support. You will need to be able to provide Application & Desktop support for a mixture of Windows desktops, laptops, Google Chromebooks, networking, firewall and physical and virtual servers and the MIS system. This is an exciting time for the IT department as they develop their systems. You will be able to gain exposure to new technologies and gain experience working in a role that is both demanding and flexible.

Day to Day Duties

Excellent communication skills when dealing with and providing feedback to internal customers' queries
Prioritising helpdesk call queries and resolving in the appropriate timeframes
Continuous improvement of IT support policies, procedures and processes.
Update all documentation with the latest available information.
Ability to develop a good understanding of key technologies in use.
Ability to use and deploy logical fault-finding techniques.
Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Monitor IT services to make sure that the IT systems are always available.
Expected to work outside normal hours as and when required.
Not afraid to get stuck in when required.Technical Experience and Knowledge

2+ Years of Experience of 1st/2nd line support
Windows Desktop OS 7 and 10
Windows Server OS 2016/2019
Active Directory, Group Policy management.
Maintain hardware and IT peripherals e.g. printers, scanners.
Use helpdesk logging software.
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and networking protocols.
Dealing with 3rd parties and suppliers.
Network Patching
