Production Planner
High Wycombe
Production Planner required for a globally established Defence company in the area of High Wycombe. The Production Planner will be responsible for planning and reviewing incoming order requirements, material availability and production resources to ensure customer orders are delivered in line with customer requirements.
The role is available on an initial 4 month contract with a possibility of extension. A competitive hourly rate is on offer which can be disclosed at application stage.
Key responsibilities of the Production Planner include:
* Preparation of work packages and schedules for production along with monitoring and reporting on material availability
* Release of Production/Shop orders and work instructions and liaison with Stores to ensure material is available as per schedule. Manage schedule of sub-contract activities
* Manage the implementation of design changes
* Liaise with external departments (Commercial, Programmes, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, QA, DO, Supply Chain) regarding planning.
* Plan all production jobs ensuring there is sufficient materials and resources available
* Liaise with Production Managers, supervisors and team leaders regarding capacity and stock requirements to meet incoming orders
* Produce production reports and material shortage reports and liaise with Procurement to ensure purchase orders are raised and expedited as necessary.
* Ensure all parties are fully updated of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated
* Release production/shop orders and work instructions on a timely basis and follow through to ensure satisfactory completion
* Manage the implementation of design changes (Change Requests, DQNs, DCNs, Production Permits) during the production process
* Manage schedule of sub-contract suppliers
* Attend CCB and progress meetings as required
* If required liaise with suppliers to ensure material is delivered to schedule
* In conjunction with Commercial ensure customer orders are raised correctly
* Work closely with Stores and Goods inwards to ensure material is available as per schedule
* Plan and expedite material linked to customer orders
The required skillset and experience for this role includes:
* Educated to O level or equivalent
* Experience of working in a manufacturing environment essential
* Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Manufacturing/Production Planner
* Forecasting and planning experience
* Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
* Experience of working with ERP system
* Eligibility for BPSS
