Mechanical Sales Engineer

Basic salary £40 -£45k potential OTE of £55 to £60k + benefits

Leading manufacturer of innovative engineered products, offering often bespoke solutions to blue chip companies is looking for a mechanically biased Sales Engineer to undertake a pivotal role supporting new projects.

Due to continued innovation they are looking for a talented technical Sales Engineer to support new sales and business development. Regular UK travel will be a requirement of the role.

As a key member of the sales team you will be responding to customer enquiries, developing business, engaging directly with customers and supporting the businesses sales operations through project delivery.

You will drive solutions and provide technical support for their bespoke mechanical product range. As they continue to exploit new markets and opportunities for their products in your Sales Engineering capacity you will understand the technical benefits they can offer to customers. Typically this will encompass new customers requesting bespoke solutions to blue chip clients requiring complete turnkey systems.

You will also be responsible for the timely handling of initial customer enquiries across all business sectors with the ability to explain product technology and applications. This will encompass handing over orders to projects team and supporting them through product delivery, maintaining, evaluating, and supporting distributor accounts, preparing technical proposals and tenders and conducting appropriate follow-up and customer support to facilitate order placement

This will encompass utilising your commercial acumen to generate new business through multiple channels. There will also be UK travel to visit existing and prospective clients
The ideal candidate will be a confident and highly motivated customer facing, technical minded individual / engineer. You will understand and translate detailed customer enquiries and offer guidance and solutions to issues as they arise. You have the desire to learn new technical skills and thrive on the varied challenges faced by a growing company. A such you will be HNC/ D + qualified (or with commensurate experience) in a mechanical or related engineering discipline with a track record of working on mechanical or related bespoke / special purpose mechanical equipment.
