Mechanical Design Engineer, High Wycombe, £45,000pa plus Benefits:

MARS Recruitment is exclusively recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a key client in High Wycombe. This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of designing precision mechanical components for existing and new products, areas of real interest in terms of your experience is Ultra High Vacuum, thermodynamics and heat transfer.

The Company & Role:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high technology products which are used by organisations around the world. Sat firmly in the FTSE 250, this exciting business is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a talented design team. On a day to day basis you will lead the mechanical design of new products, sub-systems, assemblies, customer solutions and variants. You will work closely with other specialist (technologists, systems engineer's and software developers) teams to optimise engineering solutions for their customers. You will also specify and document designs including, requirement specifications, layouts, detail & assembly drawings, Bills Of Material, etc.

About you:

You will be educated with a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
Possess 5 years' experience designing precision engineered products for volume and small batch manufacture
Experience using 3D CAD, Ideally SolidWorks
Ability to bring a thorough engineering approach to new designs
Ability to design precision engineered products and assemblies through all stages of development from concept to final published drawings
Selection of appropriate manufacturing processes for machined, sheet metal and moulded components
Good understanding of the requirements for designing Ultra High Vacuum compatible instruments.
Good understanding of thermodynamics and the various methods of heat transfer
