A leading highways services company are looking to recruit 3 Highways Inspectors to join their team in High Wycombe. The Highways Inspector will play a key part in ensuring compliance with all aspects of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and associated Codes of Practice.

THE HIGHWAYS INSPECTOR WILL HAVE;

Strong IT skills and experience using computers & handheld tablets
Full UK driving licence
Customer care skills
Experience of dealing with contractors and third parties
The ability to effectively plan their day to ensure all targets are hit
Knowledge of NRSWA 1991 , TMA 2004 & Highway Maintenance Act 1980 would be highly desirable
Ability to deal with the public and senior stakeholders in a professional manner

AS HIGHWAYS INSPECTOR, YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Inspecting sites to assess their compliance with the relevant legislation (NRSWA 1991, TMA 2004 & HMA 1980)
Liaising with statutory and private undertakers regarding your assessment of their compliance
Gathering and collating evidence in relation to the enforcement of the NRSWA & TMA and assisting in the timely submission of such evidence to the relevant parties
As required by the Team Leader – Streetworks Inspections, to complete such highway inspection of a more general nature as can be combined with inspection of road openings and to take sufficient note of these so that they can be itemised and quantified.
Liaise with members of the public, Area Office Staff, Local Councils, other County Council Departments and other authorities on matters related to NRSWA and TMA.
Reporting and dealing with any emergency or potential danger that makes a highway unsafe for the public regardless of time of day or nightIf this role sounds like it could be of interest to you, please apply with a copy of your most recent CV with your best contact number enclosed.
