Position: Specialist Teacher (KS3 & KS4)

Location: High Wycombe

Salary: £26,137 – £28,228 depending on experience, qualifications and training

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time only

Working hours: 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday

About the school

Our client, a private national provider of alternative provision for young people aged 11-16 years, are recruiting a Specialist Teacher to deliver engaging English, Maths and ICT lessons in their Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school in High Wycombe.

As an organisation they support pupils by providing an accessible secondary education suitable for their individual needs, whilst giving them the best possible opportunities to either return to mainstream education; or access work-based learning, further education or employment when they leave at the age of 16.

Overview of the role of Specialist Teacher

* As a Specialist Teacher your focus is on improving the standards of English, Maths and ICT in both staff and students but contributing to the achievement of excellence in educational standards, and always leading by example.

* Your core responsibility is to lead on all aspects of English, Maths and ICT teaching, learning and assessment.

* This will include small group and 1:1 work with students who require extra support, as well as leading on standard lessons and you will be responsible for identifying the most appropriate pathways for your students in these subjects.

Essential requirements for the role of Specialist Teacher

* You must hold QTS or QTLS

* Have a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

* A degree or equivalent subject specific qualification, preferably in English, Maths or ICT.

* A variety of teaching experience across the secondary age range.

* Involvement in curriculum development within a school.
