We are currently working on behalf of a SEMH school in High Wycombe who are seeking a SEMH Teacher to start on a permanent basis from November 1st 2021.
The school has a capacity for 26 pupils aged between 11-18, all of whom have suffered from serious trauma and have associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.
Pupils are known to display attachment issues as well as extreme behaviour, including verbal and physical aggression.
Some pupils also have additional needs such as ADHD and Autism.
The school prides itself on offering a nurturing environment for the pupils to feel safe and develop at their own pace.
Most work with the pupils is carried out in small groups or a 1-1 basis.
Whilst the school uses Team Teach as a positive handling strategy, they have not had to restrain in the last 6 months.
The school is set over two sites (High Wycombe and Aylesbury) and there may be instances where you will be required to work at different sites on different days – mileage cost will be covered.
Interview process will consist of a telephone call with the Headteacher, followed by a visit to the school, formal interview and observing lessons, whilst interacting with the pupils.
The group is one of the largest independent education and care providers in the UK and offer great growth potential and career progression.
All posts are subject to compliance checks, including enhanced DBS and reference checks
