SENDhelp is currently recruiting for Behaviour Teaching Assistant on behalf of our partner school based in the outskirts of Buckinghamshire in a vibrant city of High Wycombe.
As our new behaviour teaching assistant, you be working in a school, that is always developing and changing to meet the presenting needs of our diverse students, providing a bespoke and holistic educational environment.
Our new Behaviour teaching assistant you will be part a team that offers unconditional positive regard acceptance of students, isolating the behaviour from the person, the altering of the student 's own self-concept and altering their self-directed behaviour.
You will be working in a school that has a specialised education provision for secondary. You will be supporting pupils aged between 11 and 19years old who are no longer able to attend mainstream. The school has no more than ten students on roll, all of whom have cognitive and communication difficulties resulting in complex and challenging behaviours.
As our new behaviour teaching assistant, you will be supporting students who may also have co-morbid diagnosis such as autistic spectrum disorder and other associated neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.
The Role:
Support students with challenging behaviour
The behaviour teaching assistant will be able to support students who have additional SEND needs such as ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), MLD (Moderate Learning Disabilities), LD (Learning Disabilities), and Autistic Spectrum.
As behaviour support assistant, you will be supervising group activities such as outdoor learning, sports, life skills.
You will support students who need extra support to complete tasks such as literacy, numeracy, and ICT.
You will support students through self-regulate especially in the morning from travel journey to get ready for lessons.
Requirements:
Friendly and good team player.
Able to manage 1:1 Student, 2:1 and deal with challenging behaviour effectively.
Enjoy working with SEND children.
An ability to build good working relationships with both students and staff.
