Our client, who caters for both professional and domestic markets, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Hire Desk Assistant Manager (working Monday to Friday 7.30am-5pm plus every other Saturday 8.30am-12pm).
Reporting and liaising with the Hire Desk Manager, who covers two sites, you will be working on the trade counter and providing equipment from the warehouse ready for despatch. This is a hands-on role and requires previous experience in a trade counter environment, along with management/supervisory experience.
Key Duties :
• Daily management of the site and hire desk staff
• Liaising with the Hire Desk Manager, ensuring optimisation of the fleet of vehicles from two sites for deliveries and collections, ensuring they are scheduled in an efficient and timely manner
• Serving the trade counter customers
• Raising/closing contracts on the IT system
• Ensuring all Health & Safety measures are in place
Special requirements:
• Previous management/supervisory experience
• Previous trade counter experience
• Good general knowledge of machinery
• A strong commitment to deliver excellent customer service
• IT literate
• Driven, organised, hands-on and with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Confident and friendly telephone manner
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Positive/professional attitude
• Initiative, enthusiasm and self-motivation
• Full clean driving licence
Up to £32K (working every other Saturday is paid at overtime)
