Job Title: Technical Officer
Location: High Wycombe
Salary: £36,000

Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our client's Product Certification team based in High Wycombe. This is a great opportunity for an individual to develop their existing knowledge of British and European testing standards relating to doors, windows, fire doors and other building products in a career with a growing global organisation.

Responsibilities:

To review test evidence and produce scopes of certification/Technical Assessments
Review audit visit reports confirming compliance of the certification scheme and make certification decisions
Maintain up to date knowledge of all standards and legislation relevant to the company's certification activities and report to senior management any changes that may affect the company or the certification schemes
Ensure technical integrity of the services provided in order that they meet the requirements of our accreditation
Attend client meetings and advise on the composition of test programmes
Provide support to customers, Auditors, Certification Officers and the Customer Service team for technically based activities such as audit testing
Represent the company with Accreditation Bodies and actively promote the company's interest on committees both in the UK and overseas as required

Qualifications and Attributes:

Degree level qualification in a technical, engineering or scientific discipline
Extensive technical knowledge of windows, doors and fire doors.
IRCA ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification (training will be provided if required)
Demonstrable customer service skills
Understanding of factory processes for construction products such as doors, windows, timber products
Ability to work under pressure
Decisive
Logical, methodical planning skills
Excellent time management skills
Project management skills
Experience of meeting deadlines
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Well organised and methodical
Able to operate as part of a team or alone
Prepared to work flexible hours within a defined framework
