Junior / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer Building Services

This highly regarded consultancy provides quality Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, and Environmental engineering solutions to a broad range of projects. Projects range from large new-builds, renovations and fit-outs, to bespoke environmental designs that result in more efficient buildings. The range of work is wide covering all sectors including commercial, education, residential and health care.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop and progress as an engineer, you will receive mentoring from directors who are directly involved in project delivery and management.

Responsibilities

* Working as part of a team

* Electrical services design including but not limited to LV design including cable sizing, Lighting and lighting controls, Emergency lighting, Fire alarms, Security systems, Lightning protection

* Preparation and development of concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, drawings, calculations

* Using DIALux lighting and Amtech electrical software

* Fully proficient in AutoCAD 2D with either some knowledge of the use of Revit or the desire to learn

Qualifications / Skills: Knowledge and Experience

* Minimum 4 years’ Electrical services design experience in the UK (less if a junior engineer)

* DIALux and Amtech software knowledge

* MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel

* Good communication skills required and be able to accompany colleagues to meetings with clients, other professional design team members and contractors

* Strong technical expertise within electrical building services design, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor

* Knowledge of UK design legislation and guidance

* Minimum HNC/HND level in building services or electrical engineering or degree equivalent

* (Minimum of 5 GCSE grades A-C if Junior engineer)
