I am working with a well-known construction consultancy who are leaders within the social housing sector. They have a great reputation for delivering new build social housing, regeneration and asset remediation works for Local Authorities, Housing Association and other partners. They have an immediate need for a Clerk of Works to help cover sites in the Thames Valley.
Basic summary of Clerk of Works responsibilities:
* Performing regular inspections of the work on site and comparing completed work with drawings and specifications
* Measuring and sampling building materials to check their quality
* Recording results
* Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them
* Liaising with other construction staff, such as contractors, engineers and surveyors
* Monitoring and reporting progress to construction managers, architects and clients
Requirements for the Clerk of Works:
* Must have prior experience working as a Clerk of Works / Employers Agent or Client-side Project Manager / Building Inspector
* The Clerk of Works must have residential experience, ideally social housing
* Ideally you will have used ‘Plan Radar’ – if not training will be provided
* You will have strong skills of reporting and administrating
* Clear communicator and strong interpersonal skills
* Construction Management background and ideally a degree/HNC
* Must have a full UK drivers license
What’s on offer for the Clerk of Works?
This is a freelance role initially which may turn permanent tin the coming weeks / months. There is also scope for a Clerk of Works to take this role on a part time basis if you aren’t able to commit to 5 days a week.
Competitive day rate on offer for the Clerk of Works depending on experience
