What is the purpose of this role?
Fantastic opportunity for an Area Manager to lead the Area team to meet all contract outputs and provide clear interface with DIO Service Managers and Heads of Establishments. This will be based from High Wycombe office and cover High Wycombe and Brize Norton area.
What will this role involve?
Technical Responsibilities
Deliver Health and Safety best practice and safety excellence. Security and Fraud prevention systems and processes to be adhered to at all times. Drive Area team to deliver maintenance that is compliant with statutory, mandatory and preventative requirements and contract response times. Comply with business policy and procedures, supporting continual improvement. Identify opportunities on Establishments that will support the MoDs carbon reduction targets. Lead service delivery and Additional Works to incorporate sustainable solutions and support the sustainability agenda. Enable the review and maintenance of Estate data to provide up to date detail to Land & Asset Management Services. Meet time, cost and quality requirements for all Additional Works. Drive successful transfer of Additional Services and other concessions into service delivery.
Review risk registers and chair the Area Risk Meetings. Follow risk processes. Oversee and ensure the preparation, approval and maintenance of every IEMPS, ESTS, FASP, and ESR across the area. Report on contract Performance Indicators across the Area. Ensure Professional and Technical Advice is available to DIO and End Users. Manage the performance and interface with the Help Desk across the area. Ensure compliance with and report on H&S, Sustainability, Quality and statutory requirements. Develop and implement good collaborative working practices in line with the principles of BS11000. Identify risks and provide appropriate measures to deal with it so that the impact is mitigated.
People Responsibilities
Provide the interface and maintain successful relationships with SMR and End User Representatives; in respect of the level and quality of service provided in the area. Attract, develop & retain sufficient numbers of suitably qualified and experienced skilled persons to fulfil the service delivery. Communicate and promote area participation in support of external accreditations and initiatives that are important to Amey and relevant Stakeholders. Resolve complaints and acknowledge compliments in a timely and satisfactory manner. Comply with the organisation's Equality and Diversity policy. Management of staff outlined within current business organisational structure
Commercial Responsibilities
Manage Area budget and review P&L for effective delivery within contractual requirements. Maintain commercial control to enable planned milestone payments are achieved. Facilitate collaborative forecasting and planning, to develop and maintain Estate plans (such as IEMPs, IRMPs) as required. Monitor and review Supply Chain performance.
What are we looking for?
Significant practical experience in a management position within construction/facilities management environment, including:
Management of service delivery to achieve KPIs
Stakeholder management
Health & Safety and QA systems
Performance management of supply chain
Leadership and management skills
Excellent relationship management skills and understanding of End User surveysQualified to degree level in a technical discipline or equivalent substantial relevant experience. H&S qualification at National Level 3, such as certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
