We're looking for a talented Senior Tax Associate to work for our client.

They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience in managing a portfolio of clients for minimum of 2 years.

The Role:

Based in the company's High Wycombe office, as the Senior Tax Associate you will be primarily responsible for managing your own portfolio while also building and maintaining strong ongoing relationships with clients.

In the job you'll be tasked with the following:

– Communicating advanced technical advice to clients and colleagues

– Attending the necessary courses to ensure your professional knowledge is technically up to date

– Billing and WIP management

– Maintaining client relationships, including attending client meetings

– Identifying cross selling opportunities to pass on / deal with directly

– Completing and submitting timesheets within set deadlines

– Being involved in the marketing of the tax service line by attending client functions and seminars

The standard working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Tax Associate role will have relevant experience in managing a portfolio of clients for a minimum of 2 years. You'll also need experience in dealing with personal tax for a minimum of 4 years.

In addition, you'll need ATT qualification (in case you are not qualified, you would need at least 6 years of experience in dealing with tax services) and a good understanding of income tax, capital gains tax, national insurance & PAYE/corporation tax and business tax.

The ideal person for the role will be the following:

– Able to understand the needs of the client through direct contact and managing a portfolio

– Able to communicate effectively at all levels with colleagues and clients including good documentation of work and uses initiative

– Maintains a high level of professionalism when meeting clients

– Able to delegate work to trainees, assistants, less experienced seniors and to coach junior members of the team

– Take on more of a supervisory role with trainees, assistants and less experienced seniors

– Able to research when personal knowledge or understanding is lacking or for senior staff members where appropriate

– Aware of relevant financial targets and constraints and contributes to achieving these

– Able to manage own client budgets keeping partner informed of progress and potential problems including actual vs. Budget

– Able to plan time effectively and completes timesheets by the required deadline

– Aware of work pressures, peaks and troughs

– Able to maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice
