My Haddenham based client are looking to extend their team and hire a Van Driver/Workshop Operative.

As Van Driver/Workshop Operative, your time will be split approximately 60%/40% respectively.

Your duties will include:

* Delivery and collection of goods to and from customers

* Liaising with customers and providing communication links between customers and staff

* Loading and unloading goods on to vehicles safely and accurately, ensuring that goods are secured and transited in a safe manner to/from the customer

* Maintaining all aspects of vehicle care including fuelling and cleaning

* Adhering to company policy and procedures relating to Health and Safety and security

* You will be responsible for general duties within the workshop including moving stock around, cleaning the products, manning the gate and greeting drivers

* Working with colleagues to ensure the workshop runs efficiently

* Keeping the workshop and work areas clean and tidy at all times

* Assisting in other tasks that may be required by supervisory staff to ensure the efficient operation of the workshop

The successful candidate will:

* Need to hold a current clean driving license

* Previous commercial driving experience

* Need good geographical road knowledge of London

* Have exceptional people/communication skills

* Be able to work under pressure

* Have excellent attention to detail

* Have good numeracy and literacy skills

Working hours for this role will vary, core hours being Monday to Friday 8-5.30 when in the workshop with flexibility needed when driving, where starts are more likely to be 6am. Over time is paid after 42.5 hours per week and it is likely that your average working hours will be around 50 per week.

Pay for this position will be £20-22k depending on experience, plus over time paid at normal rate
