Job title: Sous Chef
Salary: From 30,000 GBP

The interior is a mix of contempory & traditional, offering a venue for any occasion; from a relaxing break, lavish wedding or business conference.
Overlooking the picturesque Village Common at Gerrards Cross, The hotel offers a warm welcome to guests as it has done for over 300 years.
Main duties and responsibilities: An excellent opportunity to join a small brigade of chefs producing quality fresh contemporary foods for our Restaurant, Bars, Room Service and Banqueting areas which cater for 2 – 250 guests.
Key Functions:
Through a hands on approach, maintain & improve standard of product, service and operating standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
To control departmental expenses including food costs and wages, in line with business levels.
To implement & monitor all Health & Safety and hygiene practices and procedures
To motivate, coach, implement and monitor departmental training & development plans via appraisal process
In liaison with Head Chef, develop new menu ideas & presentation methods
Essential criteria: Circa 5 years solid experience in a professional kitchen working with fresh ingredients, up to Sous Chef level in similar or larger size operation, or Head Chef in smaller unit
Good understanding of all applicable Health & Safety legislation & experience working with strict Health & Hygiene regimes.
Full understanding of food controls & experience of ordering & menu pricing
Be imaginative, have an eye for detail and a desire & ability to deliver quality fresh a la carte and buffet food with experience of large volume functions and weddings
Be enthusiastic and self-motivated with a desire to succeed in your career
Proven man-management skills with the ability to lead and motivate others
Training & coaching skills e.g. CTA or PTC
Intermediate Hygiene or Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent

Charge for accommodation: 225.00 GBP per month
