Job title: Assistant Maintenance Manager

Workplace description: Dating back to 1688, the hotel has undergone significant improvements while still reflecting its long established heritage.
The interior is a mix of contempory & traditional, offering a venue for any occasion; from a relaxing break, lavish wedding or business conference.
Overlooking the picturesque Village Common at Gerrards Cross, The hotel offers a warm welcome to guests as it has done for over 300 years.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To ensure the hotel property, including staff accommodation, is maintained to the highest standards required in accordance to H&S regulations and Company standards.
To manage the day to day maintenance operations of the hotel and ensure the preventative maintenance programme is followed.
To liaise with housekeeping to co-ordinate and prioritise maintenance activities for guest rooms and public areas.
To assist in maintaining the physical plant, engineering facilities, all electrical and mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, controls, fire safety systems and the interior and exterior of the entire hotel.
To help manage any contractors on site.
To ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
Essential criteria: Be a tradesperson – any of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, Engineering etc with a basic understanding of heating and plumbing systems and general building maintenance skills.
2-3 years experience in a maintenance role ideally within a hotel/private hospital or similar building with at least 100 rooms and large public areas.
Proven supervisory skills with hands on management approach.
Good understanding of all H&S requirements relating to the upkeep of such a building with minimum qualification of Foundation Health & Safety Certificate
The ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure and to be results driven to comply with the needs of the business.
A team player with good clear communication and organisational skills, ideally computer literate
Ability to implement policies and procedures whilst ensuring their compliance is adhered to at all times
Be able to work with and help manage on site contractors
Must be flexible in hours/days worked as weekend work involved on rota
