An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bench Hand Joiner to join a leading joinery company. Based in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, the successful Bench Hand Joiner will earn £15.00 to £20.00 p/h depending on speed and experience. Also, overtime is available at hourly rate + bonus.

This joinery company was founded by a Master Craftsman in 2001, who trained and graduated in Germany. He has a passion for creating things in wood and prides himself on producing high quality, precise and perfectly crafted quality doors, windows and staircases from the finest timbers. Combining practicality with high standards of excellence and meticulous attention to detail, the company has established a reputation for delivering quality workmanship for both traditional and contemporary-style new build and period properties. Currently the company has been contracted to refurbish a luxury hotel, which means there is plenty of work available and provides a great opportunity for a Bench Hand Joiner to join a well-established company.
The Role
The production process employs state-of-the-art, Swiss-made CNC milling machines with precision tooling programmed by a CAD system to ensure consistency and quality. This specialist joiner creates bespoke products such as windows, doors, stairs and counters, and is looking for a Bench Hand Joiner to support the expanding business. The Bench Hand Joiner’s main purpose will be to assemble bespoke joinery. In addition, the Bench Hand Joiner’s main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Estimating the materials needed for a job, producing cutting lists and selecting wood
Measuring, marking and cutting timber into required shapes and lengths for assembly
Working to production schedules
Interpreting technical plans and diagrams
Programming computerised cutting equipment
Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Conducting quality checks and reporting to senior staff
The Candidate
Understanding of building and construction, with knowledge of health & safety in the workplace
Able to work on your own or in a team
Take full ownership and responsibility of your work
Excellent attention to detail
A great work ethic and able to think on your feet
Good maths skills
Ability to interpret plans, diagrams and drawings
Must be able to use hand tools and woodworking machinery and take pride in your own workmanship
