Commercial Officer
Randstad Engineering are looking for a Commercial Officer working in the Commercial Department for a leading 1st teir Defence business. The role holder is responsible for the effective commercial management of allocated customer accounts, with particular focus on bid and proposal preparation in accordance with Company procedures, both competitive and sole source; contract administration; debt management and customer relationship responsibilities.
The requirements
Bid and Proposal Management – acting as Bid Manager and working closely with the programme managers and other departments;
Contract Management – Contract review, negotiation and flow-down of contractual requirements to functions for commercial risk management;
Customer Relationship Management – acting as the point of contact for the customer and voice of the customer within the company and to maintain professional and mutually beneficial customer relationships;
Debt Management -Responsibility for monitor debt status and progression of payment
Company Representative: Represent the department and/or company internally and externally as required both in UK and elsewhere;Experience
Education:
Qualified to degree level in a Business, Law or Engineering Discipline;Key Competencies:
Highly literate with strong numerical manipulation and IT skills;
Demonstrable commercial acumen and organisational risk management awareness.
Previous experience in commercial/contracts for a technical industry (aerospace, IT, telecommunications, e.g.) with knowledge/experience of:
Bid Management
Negotiation of high-value contracts
Account Management
Contract LawDesired experience
Aerospace / defence industry experience
Export Controls (ITAR)
FAR 15 (TINA)
Defence Contracting Regulations
Current or previous Security Clearance will be an advantage
Knowledge of SAP
