SF Recruitment are working with a retail business based in the Birmingham area, we are currently looking for someone to a join a rapidly growing successful business who are currently looking for a temporary General Ledger Accountant.
The successful candidate will be looking after month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and accuracy of financial statements. The company is looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.
Key Skills:
– Preparation of month end journals including accruals and prepayments followed by balance sheet reconciliations to support the wider finance team.
– Monthly P&L analysis to budget, identifying and justifying material variances
– Utilities accounting, analysis and process improvements.
– Support fixed asset accounting and reconciliations.
– Support stock reconciliation and variance analysis.
– Periodic VAT returns and reconciliations.
– Involvement in year-end audit requests and liaising with auditors. Proactively collating information through the year to ease pressures at year end.
– Identifying and promoting best practice and communicating where process improvements can be made, both within the role and across the wider team.
– Any other tasks deemed necessary as the role and business develops.
