An exciting & rare opportunity to join an innovative scientific company in a hands on role involving instrumentation maintenance, servicing and repair onsite and at customer sites, as well as managing the other Service Engineers (currently a team of 2).
The role split is around 2 days per week travelling to customer sites, with around 3 days per week at the office in Buckinghamshire.
This company specialise in robotic automation used for molecular diagnostic applications, including PCR testing, used in NHS laboratories.
Experience working in a hands-on role either as a Service Engineer, Laboratory Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Production Engineer or similar is suitable. Willingness to learn, a problem solving mindset and desire to manage a small team is essential!
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the Service Engineering Team and ensure that they are fully trained and effective.
Manage maintenance and repair callout scheduling.
Work to ISO13485 standard
Carry out Service and Repair work at Customer sites as required.
Support and maintain in-house production equipment.
Lead projects to introduce and validate manufacturing equipment.
Person Specification:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, demonstrable ability in instrumentation maintenance and repair – this can be from a hands on role working as a Service Engineer (or similar) with mechatronics, electro-mechanical instrumentation, or in a hands-on laboratory based role, seeking a new challenge
BSc/BEng or equivalent qualification is preferred
Strong organizational, and time management skills
Interest in a position with a combination of hands-on work with leadership of a small team
Ability to teach others.
UK Driving Licence is essential
