ASSOCIATE / PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER

Dynamic and optimistic in their approach, our client is looking for an ambitious and well-rounded Principal Civil Engineer who can identify innovative and cost effective strategies and design solutions and manage a team of engineers and technicians. As a Principal Engineer you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the team in their Chesham office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

Experience of leading design teams and managing resources effectively.
Extensive experience of leading civil engineering, or multi-discipline, projects with a client facing role.
Preparation of highway design and specifications.
Chairing client and consultation project meetings
Preparing technical reports, fee proposals, bids, budgets, resource levels and all associated HSE, CDM and QA aspects
Business development through consolidating existing client relationships and seeking out new business
Takes responsibility for ensuring all projects are completed in a timely and cost effective way
Providing technical guidance to others
Reporting as necessary on projects and progress
Working with both public and private sector clients on projects
Mentoring EngineersQualification

Civil Engineering Degree or a relevant discipline or equivalent.
Chartered MICE or MIStructE or equivalentExperience

Previous UK Highways and Infrastructure design experience at a Principal level
In depth building construction knowledge

An analytical and detailed approach to work
A confident team player with superb interpersonal skills
A creative innovator with a technical approach to projects and tasks
Unquestionable integrity, experience, confidence, and the stature to effectively address major client needs and challenges
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
A hands-on approach to projectsDesirable

Be able to work well in teams and provide efficient direction to graduates.
Experience of AutoCad, Civils 3D or PDS, MicroDrainage, and various Section Agreements
Knowledge of design codes
Strong analytical, critical thinking
