We are working with a successful business who are looking for an accountant to join their team

This role will provide accounting support including the review and processing of transactions and reconciliations.

The role will play a vital role within the HO Finance team by assisting with the day to day finance function, responding to queries and performing other ad-hoc tasks as required.

This is a sole role in a growing business, so a self starter with experience within an existing SME, who wants to get involved in the business as well as being responsible for the accounting function would be ideal

Key Activities and Responsibilities

include but not limited to:

* Formulating strategic and long-term business plans

* Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance and identifying areas for potential improvement

* Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out

* Managing budgets and producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines

* Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and procedures

* Providing insightful information to senior management to aid long-term and short-term decision making

* Presenting financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients

* Assisting with month-end preparation

* Maintain the fixed asset register

* Identifying cost reduction opportunities

* Insurance, Public liability and Vans

* Utilities,elec, phones

* Approve and pay expenses, check VAT receipts

* Transactional Accounting tasks including AP & AR processing

* Bank, Balance Sheet & General Ledger reconciliations

* Reconcile company credit card transactions

* Monitoring ongoing financial operations within a company, such as payroll, invoicing, cash flow and other transactions

* VAT returns

The role requires someone who is looking for a challenging role within a busy, technology driven business, an individual who is used to working in an all round accounts function, but also advising the senior management on strategic and long term business plans
