Our client, a prestigious Members Club in Wendover, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional Finance/Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent Part Time basis. Founded in 1906, the Club has full membership along with a waiting list, which is therefore a popular venue for members and guests for dining. Due to excellent drainage systems the course is open all year round and they also hold private functions.
The Role: As the Finance/Accounts Assistant you’ll work alongside an existing member of staff and present reports to the Board Member of Finance.
* Making payments by cheque and BACS
* Bank & Petty Cash reconciliations (weekly/month end)
* Producing management reports/information from the accounting system, Sage
* Keeping nominal coding, charts of account and budget information up to date in Sage
* Prepare quarterly VAT reports for ratification by the Club’s VAT advisor
* Credit Control & Payroll
* Producing monthly journals
* Posting salary journals
* Raising and processing invoices/credit notes
* Maintaining the accounting and financial records within a small administration office
* Ad-hoc administration tasks such as: Ordering stationary, handling incoming post (cash/cheques, credit card, BACS), recording staff holidays/absences and updating staff contact details/changes
The Person: Experience of accounting software and/or payroll functions (Sage is essential)
* A strong operational understanding of Sage and its functions
* Experience within a Finance/Accounts position, ideally part or fully AAT qualified or a similar accounting qualification
* IT proficiency and experience with MS Excel, Outlook and Word
* A high degree of confidentiality, creative problem solving and good interpersonal skills
* Accurate, organised, methodical and thorough, with great attention to detail
* Numerate and accurate, able to manage complicated situations effectively
* Pro-active, approaching all tasks and issues with urgency and enthusiasm
The Package:
* 25-30hrs per week
* Flexible working pattern
* Pro rata salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
