BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

£ 55-65,000 depending on experience + (Car Allowance + Commission + Benefits)
The Person
With a strong operational background in the world of Logistics, Warehousing and Materials Handling, you will have a thorough understanding of the challenges, ongoing sector evolution and therefore opportunities to introduce the businesses standard and aligned bespoke solutions.
Your personal process of sale will be immersive, with an ability to get underneath and solve client’s operation problems, conveyed by your knowledge, translated into commercial and operational benefits to the client. The product sale will be the bi-product of the knowledge, support and service you have provided in building client relationships, always seeing things from their perspective.
Having a natural affinity with your target clients, you will be immediately credible, with efficient, personable and quality communication at the core of everything you do in building new relationships, delivering a point of difference to our competitors, from a reactive service and attention perspective. Whilst having an engaging, outgoing and positive persona, you will be a realist, capable of deciphering and prioritising opportunities, to ensure your own and the business resources are focussed maximising reward.
Internally you will “own” the opportunities you deliver, driving the businesses response through the support of design, technical and commercial resources to ensure maximum conversion.
What is required in order to excel in this position;
* Able to demonstrate extensive relevant industry knowledge and contacts
* Have great competitor awareness and a good understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
* Have a time served and exemplary career path in which you have been exposed to all aspects of and are therefore familiar with logistics, warehouse, distribution and Ecommerce operational requirements and challenges
* Adopt a technical / consultant sales approach and ability
* Have a proactive and driven mind-set with a focus on befriending and winning
* Value your own and the company’s reputation based on performance, integrity and achievement
* Experience of reviewing and implementing change & solutions within the logistics and Ecommerce sector.
