Whatever the industry, Facilities is at the heart of it and the Scientific and Research sector is no different.
What industry am I talking about? Well, one that can boast of a growth in productivity 3 times faster than the national average. A sector that has trebled in size since 2000, with a 6% annual growth. The Industry now supports 14% of UK GDP.
The Space sector.
I don’t mean moves and space management, I mean final frontier space. You can’t say you don’t want to be part of that.
Why join the space industry…?
Well… they have invested millions into world class facilities (which will be yours to look after), opened multiple regional centres, delivered externally funded projects. In short, they are at the heart of the Space Industry…. as you could be.
And what would your role be?
As Facilities Manager, looking specifically after the new centre, you will have a high level of autonomy, as you will be the lead on all things Estates on the new site.
The job includes the management of maintenance and site contractors, day-to-day health and safety and security. Also, as it is a new site, you will oversee the new facilities, checking on all supplies and contracts.
Due to the health and safety requirements on site, a NEBOSH is needed and if you’re used to managing security systems that’s a major plus.
