Working as part of a team of 6 within the HR Department and supporting the Head of HR in providing a proactive HR and training service to all areas of the organisation. The role will be split between HR 60% and Training 40%, working within the education services sector.
You’ll ensure the recruitment and selection processes comply with all regulatory requirements associated with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and that the HR database accurately records pre-employment validation checks. Preparing contracts of employment and related documentation. Undertaking any HR casework as required. You’ll also be responsible for the administration, development and implementation of the training requirements across the School, including any Apprenticeship schemes.
Key Tasks:
HR
* Provide guidance and advice to staff and Line Managers on HR policy and procedures including sickness absence, disciplinary, capability, grievance etc.
* Maintain, develop and update the School’s computerised HR records system.
* Undertake HR casework relating to investigations, disciplinary, capability and grievances.
* Ensure the accuracy of the Single Central Register (SCR) is compliant with ISI regulations.
* Produce monthly starters and leavers reports for Payroll.
* Liaise with Line Managers on the delivery of the Absence Management Policy and assist with managing any Formal Absence Review Meetings.
* Maintain labour turnover figures and produce termly reports for the Head of HR.
* Assist in the preparation of annual census information.
* Regularly review and update job descriptions, policies/procedures and staff handbooks as required.
* Assist in the preparation of the annual salary letters.
* Undertake safeguarding interviewing as required
* Undertake benchmarking as necessary and produce information relating to pay levels and market rates as required.
Training
* Create, deliver and facilitate in-house training, including induction training, across the School.
* Manage the Apprenticeship schemes.
* Be responsible for the administration relating to training.
* Coach Line Managers in order for them to support their teams more effectively.
* Build relationships with external training providers and source and deliver appropriate training within budget.
* Oversee the child protection training records and liaise with the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and Line Managers on training needs.
* Liaise and support Line Managers to ensure that staff training needs are met and the training matrix template is updated.
General
* Assist and, where appropriate, deputise for the Head of HR and assist with any other duties as necessary within the team.
This role would suit a CIPD level 5 individual (not essential if you have heaps of experience) who is easy to get along within and enjoys a team environment (laid back and quirky).
Although working within education services sector you will be working 52 weeks per year, annual leave is 25 days plus 8 Bank Holidays. Free Parking, Free Lunch and use of pool.
